Happy Friday Everyone!
As we may or may not know, faith shows the reality of what we hope for and the evidence of things not seen. In Hebrews 11, we are given many examples of faith given throughout the trusted Bible.
It was by faith that:
- Noah built the ark (v.7)
- Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God (v.4)
- Abraham obeyed when God called him to depart to an unknown land(v.8)
- Sarah was able to conceive(v.11)
- Moses’ parents hid him as a baby (v.23)
- And many more listed though out the chapter
In chapter 11, “It was by faith,” is listed at least 15 times (NLT ) with over 15 different “by faith” stories. All of these people had enormous faith and they, I believe, were not only loved by God but were here to remind us to do just as they did:Keep the faith!!
What is your “by faith” story? Better yet, when was the last time you shared your story with someone else? Did you know that just by giving your own testimony, not only are you reassuring your own faith within yourself, it can be a way of discipleship as you may be helping someone else build their own faith. You may just be the one to plant the faith seed in someone’s life so that the next person can come along and water that very seed that you planted! It will also cultivate a thankful heart especially if we may be feeling a little down that day.
This week, share your story or read Hebrews 11 and recall all of these beautiful stories of how God bailed those prophets out of whatever they had going on. Give Him thanks for your personal “by faith” moments and if you cannot think of any at this moment, keep the faith anyway because He’s worthy of that and much more. I promise, if you have faith and keep the faith in Him and Him ONLY, you will see His hand move in mighty ways, therefore creating your very own “by faith” story.
