Happy Easter Everyone!
Every now and then, the Lord gives me a song and this morning He gave me “Thirsty” by Marvin Sapp.
The timing was funny I guess because as He gave me this song, I was working at 1 in the morning. The song lyrics begin by saying “…I need thee, every hour, I need thee….” Now, I am a merchant seaman and at that particular time, there was NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING going on on the ship. No cargo, no visitors aboard, only two people awake including myself. We are not even on a foreign voyage so at first I felt this song to me was a little ironic until I sang it out.
There are times where we may not see anything going wrong. Life may seem to be going just perfect and couldn’t seem to get any better but as in John 15:5, “…for without Me, ye can do nothing.” You need Him to survive. We cannot even breathe without Him. At 1 AM, when the waters are calm and gentle, I still needed Him.
Once again, I recognize how much my life really and truly depends upon His favor, His grace, His mercies, His love, just God being the loving God He is and that we needed Jesus to defeat the grave and die for us. We needed His perfect sacrifice so that we may have a shot at everlasting life and today is the day in which we celebrate Easter.
Dear Lord, Thank You for giving us what we needed which was and still is, You. Thank You for your loving & perfect sacrafice and providing us a way to be clean so that we may live. Amen
